Madeleine Angevine
2022Madeleine Angevine is a white wine grape from the Loire Valley in France that is popular in the United Kingdom. The early-ripening grape is a cross between Madeleine Royale and de Malingre grapes a Riesling-type that grows well in cooler climates. Madeleine Angevine makes an attractive fruity wine with a flowery nose, similar to an Alsatian Pinot Blanc. It is crisp and dry, and pairs particularly well with seafoods such as scallops and oysters.
Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
Danebury’s Madeleine Angevine is a beautifully elegant wine, reminiscent of an English orchard. Ripe orchard fruit and flinty aromas mingle on the nose and continue to show on the palate. The mouthfeel is rounded with a slight chalky texture: a nod to the Hampshire chalky soils on which the grapes were grown, tempering the wine’s racy acidity and adding structure. A light honeyed note develops on the finish, contributing a subtle richness.
