Harvest 2022

The harvest finished early this year and we would like to thank our wonderful volunteers for their hard work and stamina over the three pickings.  

The weather leading up to harvest proved challenging for our grapes, but we are very pleased with the quality, as is our wine maker.

We began by harvesting our early ripening Madeleine Angevine in good weather on  22^nd Sept., shortly followed by the Schönburger, where the grapes had turned their characteristically dark pink and purple.  

We wrapped up the 2022 harvest with the sparkling wine grapes, Auxerrois and Rulander (Pinot Gris), on Friday 7^th Oct.  This is the earliest we have ever completed our harvest, which we put down to the long hot summer bringing ripening forward. 

All in all, a good year for quality and we can’t wait for the 2023 vintage to arrive in our cellars next spring.
