Harvest 2017

After two hard days of picking in warm, dry conditions, the 2017 harvest is now ‘in the bag’! Both the Madeleine Angevine and the Schonburger promise to be excellent wines, with very good readings for sugar and acid and a delicious flavour. The Auxerrois/Rulander blend that goes into making our sparkling wine suffered in the late May frost, so the quantity is considerably down, however the readings are good, so we are hopeful that it will be a ‘small, but perfectly formed’ vintage.

Once again, a huge thank you must go to our merry band of volunteer pickers, who performed their task with great good humour, despite the day being a bit longer than anticipated!
