Happy New Year 2024

It has been a wet and cold start to 2024 for the vineyard here at Danebury. The vines are presently dormant, so all growth above ground has ceased.  This dormancy phase helps vines to tolerate cold winter temperature and, because there is no growth, the vine stores it’s energy source in the roots to help produce new leaf growth and fruit later on in the year. 

We will soon be visiting our winemaker to taste tank samples and decide on the blends for our sparkling ‘Cossack’ and Reserve, and check the progress of the Madeleine Angevine and Schönburger.
